26 September · Varbado-Tago

One day.
One language.
One world.

Every year on September 26th, Esperantists everywhere step outside their circles and open the door to everyone else.

Through the door

Behind every door, someone who hasn't heard of Esperanto yet.

Varbado-Tago is the day we go and knock. 12 days to go.

Why a recruitment day

No government funds it. No corporation markets it. It grows because people share it.

Esperanto has survived for over 130 years the same way it started: one person teaching another. Varbado-Tago makes that sharing collective: one coordinated day, worldwide, when every Esperantist becomes a recruiter.

Every year on September 26th, Esperantists everywhere step outside their circles and invite the public into the Esperanto world. Not a conference. Not a congress. A day of open doors.

What you can do

Pick one. Five minutes is enough.

You don't need fluency, a budget or permission. You need one person willing to listen.

Pop-up table

"Learn Esperanto in 10 minutes" in a park or café. A table, two chairs, a phone.

Open house lesson

Local speakers host a first lesson. Doors open, no sign-up, no homework.

Fairs and festivals

An Esperanto kiosk at the language fair your town already runs.

One post

A story, a reel, a thread. Say what Esperanto did for you and where to start.

Posters and flyers

Around universities, libraries and noticeboards. The starter kit has print-ready files.

Chalk on the street

One sentence on the pavement: "Saluton! Ĉu vi parolas Esperanton?"

The one simple ask: introduce Esperanto to one person.

Schools and libraries can host a demo class. You can just tell a friend. Both count, and both are the same act.

26.09European Day of Languages
Same day, same soil

A day the world already spends thinking about languages.

September 26 is the European Day of Languages. Varbado-Tago plants Esperanto's flag in that same soil: proof that a language built for everyone deserves a seat at the table.
